Teledyne RD Instruments Launches Two New Next-Gen Technologies

April 23, 2019 By MOTN

Teledyne Marine(San Diego, Calif. – April 23, 2019)   In 1982, RD Instruments introduced the industry’s first Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), forever changing the way that ocean currents are measured around the globe.  Thirteen years later, this innovative technology was literally flipped on its head to create the industry’s first Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), ushering in a new era in precision subsea navigation.

Now, via the culmination of two major technology developments, Teledyne RDI continues to raise the bar, with new next-gen products designed to take their rightful place as new industry standards.

Pinnacle 45 ADCP

Building upon the tremendous 20-year success of their Workhorse Long Ranger ADCP, Teledyne RDI is pleased to introduce their next-generation long-range  ADCP—the Pinnacle 45.  Rated to a depth of 2000 m, the 45 kHz phased array Pinnacle ADCP delivers a 1000 m current profiling range with a decreased size and weight, a game-changing field-swappable real-time to self-contained system configuration, and a long list of impressive new features and product enhancements.  http://www.teledynemarine.com/Pinnacle

Tasman DVL

Teledyne RDI’s new Tasman DVL represents the next generation of DVL technology.   Teledyne RDI’s long-standing Workhorse Navigator was the first DVL to enter the market, and still remains the gold-standard for precision subsea navigation around the globe.   The new Tasman DVL, with its reduced size and increased range, has been designed to supersede this industry icon with enhanced broadband signal processing, increased accuracy, and an innovative field-replaceable phased array transducer design. With bottom tracking ranges from 0.15 m to 420 m, in up to 6,000 m water depths, the Tasman represents the most advanced technology available for vehicles ranging from small ROVs to large diameter AUVs.  http://www.teledynemarine.com/Tasman
