ROBOTICA ’15: MOTN WAS THERE!

June 23, 2015 By MOTN

ROBOTICA '15: MOTN WAS THERE!MOTN was very well received at

Robotica ’15!  AUVSI’s generous booth donation, located right at the entrance to the main exhibits and programs, afforded us the opportunity to meet, entertain questions from and extol our association’s virtues to a maximum number of Robotica attendees on June 16th, Robotica’s “maritime day”.  We spread the word about MOTN and what we represent and offer as a marine technology industry association.  Special shout-outs to Mike Neville of Green Insurance Exchange for his terrific help in booth set-up, take-down and his enthusiastic, tireless presence through-out the day; and to Treasurer Mike Mathewson for bringing the “swag”, including the new MOTN lapel pin, which was very popular!  Our booth also debuted MOTN’s spiffy, new “pop-up display – see the photo below.

MOTN’s attendees, including Maggie Merrill, Harlan Doliner, Morgan McCarthy, and the afore-mentioned Mike Neville and Mike Mathewson (apologies to anyone omitted!) made great, new contacts, including several potential new member companies. We also attended and participated in several of the lectures and panels, including “Underwater Forensics,” which featured technology from member company, Teledyne Seabotix.

MOTN’s Program Chairperson, Morgan McCarthy was a primary speaker on the panel entitled “The Future of Maritime Applications”, where she described some of our member companies involved in robotics, and held-forth on the importance of associations such as MOTN in promoting business-building and networking with a wide set of connections and relationships among the various “sub-industries” that make-up the marine technology industry.
