Blue Innovation Symposium @ Online

About The Event

The Blue Innovation Symposium is the premier event in New England for connecting the marine technology industry for education, networking and facilitating partnering opportunities. The conference brings together a broad spectrum of representatives of the marine technology industry from the US and beyond.  Each year, the program has welcomed more than 270 attendees and nearly 40 sponsors for the three-day event, which included keynote addresses, panel discussions and a unique series of five-minute flash talks.

This year, because of COVID 19, we are holding 2 separate Blue Innovation Symposium programs.  The first event, will be a fully virtual program and held from 2-4PM on February 2, 2021. The second event, will have a blended format, meeting both virtually and face-to-face, and be held as soon as circumstances allow, in late Spring or early summer.

Highlights from the 2020 Blue Innovation Symposium included a surprise announcement from Stefan Pryor, RI Secretary of Commerce who revealed that Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, in partnership with offshore wind developer Ørsted, would open its US Innovation Hub in Providence, RI. We also presented our inaugural Rising Tide Awards to Dr. Jim Bellingham, director of the Center for Marine Robotics (CMR) at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), Boston Engineering of Waltham, Massachusetts and GeoSpectrum Technologies of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, all in recognition of their contributions to the industry.

The Blue Innovation Symposium is organized by the Marine & Oceanographic Technology Network (MOTN), the Consulate General of Canada in Boston, and TSC Strategic.
