About this Event

Due to ongoing concerns over COVID-19, Venture Café Providence has joined our sister sites across the globe in converting to a digital format for the foreseeable future.

Introducing: Virtual Venture Café! What is Virtual Venture Café, you ask? It’s everything you’ve come to love and expect from our in-person Thursday Gatherings, just online using the Zoom meeting platform. We’ll still have Office Hours, networking opportunities, panel discussions, lectures, and MORE from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.

Ocean State dwellers, it’s time to talk about Blue Tech.

Join us on April 23rd from 3:00-6:00 PM as we team up with co-founders of the Blue Innovation Symposium at Salve Regina University,Toby Stapleton, Dean of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education Programs at Salve Regina University, and Justin Manley, President of Just Innovation for “Black Swans in the Blue Economy,” a virtual evening centered around the unique challenges and innovations emerging from COVID-19 as it relates to blue technology!

Toby Stapleton, Dean of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education Programs at Salve Regina University and Justin Manley of Just Innovation

3:30 – 4:30 PM | Blue Innovation: Making an Impact on the Blue Economy

Blue Economy and startup experts including: Hope Hopkins, Justin Manley, Rhonda Moniz, and Roger Race will join Toby Stapleton for an in-depth conversation highlighting the blue economy spectrum from startups to major companies with special attention to thriving blue tech startups, the role of networking and partnerships in their development, and how funding is changing in current crisis.

4:30 – 5:00 PM | Blue Robotics: Updates from the Unmanned Maritime System Sector

Justin Manley will highlight important developments in the Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) sector providing a summary of UMS technology and up-to-date market news from the first quarter of 2020 relevant to New England.

5:00 – 5:30 PM | Blue Economy Flash Talks

Entrepreneurs Jud Kauffman and Derek Puzzuoli will talk about their startup ventures with moderator Justin Manley.

5:00-6:00 PM | Open Office Hours

WEEKLY Virtual Venture Café Office Hours are available for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to receive advice from experienced business professionals, entrepreneurs and investors. Our FREE office hour appointments may be booked in 30-minute segments for one-on-one sessions with one or more of our advisors. Advanced booking is recommended!
