Contact: Ms. Cheryl Zimmerman Contact: Mr. Jim Fee FarSounder, Inc. is a Providence, Rhode Island based technology company that develops, manufactures and markets advanced sonar systems used in vessel navigation, underwater surveying and security applications. FarSounder's technology is based on research begun at the University of Rhode Island's Department of Ocean Engineering and Ocean Technology Center with assistance from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. FarSounder's systems now make it possible to see real-time, 3D computer images of the sea floor, rocks, whales and other in-water obstacles in front of a vessel in both shallow and deep water.
